Devlog week #9 - Pause Menu, Questing and Design document progression


Hello everyone!

This week a lot of progress was made in the development of our game. We implemented the a save system , some checkpoints, limited the map and created some unlockable zones. Then there are the parts I was involved with, the pause menu and the questing.

In the pause menu department, we had a little misunderstanding, we hadtwo people implementing it, and in the end we combined elements from both implementations. We our pause menu we have the option to resume the game, save the game, quit the game and also load a checkpoint. Right it is accessible by pressing the escape button.

Then we have the questing, right now the only types of quests implemented are kill quests. We had to change somethings about the enemies, so that we can count them as they die when the quest is active. This weekend I plan to finish the questing system with all the things that need to be there.

We are also working the ideas we have to make the player progress in our game, and putting them together on paper.
